CAN Pro-Am Hockey Tournament presented by Modern Green Canada will bring “Best of BC” NHL Alumni to Vancouver
The inaugural Canucks Autism Network (CAN) Pro-Am Hockey Tournament, presented by Modern Green Canada, is set to take place from January 25 to January 27, 2019, at the UBC Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre and Rogers Arena, home of the Vancouver Canucks. In partnership with the NHL Alumni Association and Vancouver Canucks Alumni Association, the tournament will bring together former NHL greats with amateur players in support of CAN and families living with autism in British Columbia.
The transit authority announced Wednesday that the sale of the site on West 41st Avenue, east of Oak Street, had been finalized. TransLink has sold its 13.8-acres Oakridge Transit Centre lot to a developer for $440 million, making it one of the largest real estate transactions in B.C.’s history.

Modern Green Canada and UBC partner to advance green building research with $3.5-million contribution
Modern Green Canada and the University of British Columbia entered into a strategic partnership, with Modern Green Canada’s $3.5 million contribution to support UBC’s Centre for Institutional Research on Sustainability (CIRS) and applied research in the development of sustainable urban infrastructure and green building practices. The partnership provides UBC a partner to help test and deploy advanced sustainable building technologies in an effort to provide market-based solutions to global sustainability challenges.
